The Grip

Once you understand what to do with the putter basically you can hold it however you like as long as it's comfortable and solid. We've tried most grips and found them to be acceptable and our Instructors all have different grips yet each manages to achieve excellent control on the Boomerang. That's why we haven't put up any photos of the perfect grip.

Grip pressure is another factor especially when you stab or flick at putts because as soon as your wrists break you can only guess about the rapidly accelerating forces involved. With a wristy stroke you can grip too tightly and blast the ball or grip too lightly and you wont get enough acceleration.

With a synchronized stroke, on the other hand, you can grip the putter as tightly as you want and it wont effect the speed of the putt at all. If you grip the putter too weakly though it may wobble, move off line and get out of control so the lesson here is to make sure that you grip the putter firmly enough to control the club with your hands in a comfortable position.
