Muscle Memory

Putting is not like riding a bike because a bike shows you where to sit, where to steer and where to apply power. Putting is something you need to re-learn every time you do it because your muscle memory is constantly changing.

It's minute unnoticed changes that cause a loss of form even when your technique and set-up appears to be unchanged. We use a high-speed video camera so students can see that despite what their muscles say, flaws can and do creep in to your stroke. But once you've got good basic skills you can maintain your set-up and technique through a little efficient regular practice.

Even with great golf instruction muscles have very poor memories. They forget a little more each day and that's why the Boomerang is so good for those who make their living with a putter. As a clinical test of straight putting the Boomerang will indicate any bias on the ball and expose any deviation from a solid set-up and a controlled technique. It only takes ten minutes prior to a round to confirm that your eyes, hands, ball and putter are all where you expect them to be and that's priceless when you're playing for money.
